General Raheel reviews military's operational preparedness in Mangla
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited on Monday headquarters of Pakistan Army’s Strike Corps at Mangla to review the military’s operational preparedness.
His visit to one of the main strike corps of Pakistan Army comes in wake of recent simmering of tensions between Pakistan and India.
While the Strike Corps commander briefed the army chief, commanders of Lahore Corps, Gujranwala Corps, Peshawar Corps and DGMO were present on the occasion, the ISPR said.
Any misadventure by enemy will be given fitting response
The I Strike Corps of the Pakistan Army headquartered in Mangla is one of the oldest and major formations of Pakistan Army, and a major component of Northern Military Command of Pakistan Defence Forces.
Last week, in a veiled reference to India, General Raheel warned that any misadventure by Pakistan’s adversary will meet a befitting response from the armed forces.
Tensions between the two arch rivals have been boiling since the Indian government accused Pakistan-based militants of launching an assault on an army base in Uri, IOK, that killed 18 soldiers last month.
