Against India’s aggression: Legal eagles urge govt to highlight Kashmir cause

LAHORE: Expressing solidarity with Pakistan Army against Indian aggression, leaders of top bar associations have urged the government to take up the case of violation of human rights diplomatically at all international forums.

Speaking at a joint press conference on Tuesday, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Syed Ali Zafar said the entire legal fraternity of Pakistan was determined to stand side-by-side with its armed forces, government and the nation against any act of aggression against their homeland.

Presidents of Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore Bar Association and Lahore Tax Bar Association also spoke at the media briefing.

Barrister Zafar lauded the steps of the government in calling an all parties conference to discuss a unanimous action plan against Indian acts of violence. “India wants to divert the world’s attention from its human rights violations in Kashmir and damage the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) project,” he believed.

The SCBA president urged the peace-loving people in India to raise their voice and stop their government from unjustified violence in Kashmir.

He added the threat of surgical strikes or any other form of operation that hurts Pakistan should be fully resisted. “If Indus Water Treaty is unilaterally cancelled, it will be a violation of both the agreement as well as the international laws,” he said.
