Pakistan, Egypt agree to work in harmony to wipe out terrorism
CAIRO (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday met with Egyptian president Abdel Fatah el-Sisi. Both had discussion over security situation of the region and the challenges faced in this regards, reported Dunya News.
Egyptian president stated that the Muslim ummah needs to counter the menace of terrorism in harmony. el-Sisi acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan army in regards to establishing peace in the region.
Army chief paid visit to the training centre of the Egyptian Special Forces and lauded the capabilities and expertise of the Egyptian forces. He also inspected the exercises of the special forces.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department, army chief met with the military leaders of Egypt who expressed their intentions of gaining advantage from the experience of Pakistan army regarding the battle against terrorism. COAS was given a guard of honour at the headquarters of the Egyptian army as well.
General Raheel also met with Sheikh Al-Azhar at the Al-Azhar University in the Egyptian capital. Sheikh Al-Azhar appreciated the efforts made by Pakistan in order to wipe out terrorism.
